Cranberries and Crescents Autumn Writing Challenge ♡

The aim of this challenge is to encourage people to continue writing, even though school is making each and every one of us busy.
I know I'm not a very good writer, I'll take this wonderful opportunity to improve my writing skills. Thanks again Aliah!:)

This was the challenge for this week:

These are your 3 challenges for this week's chapter!

Use one of two pictures given to start story.

One character must have a kind of power (it can be magical or 

non-magical).

Something important was lost.

Chapter 1

It was over. Everything was over.

I lost him... and I was just about to lose myself.

Everything around felt unreal, like I was living a dream. I ran my fingers slowly along the rough surface of the tree branch sticking out in front of me, bright red gashes appeared below my fingertips.  No matter how much my heart desired, I was not living in a dream world , I felt the sting from the cut , it hurt.

I've been here many times, this beautiful place has always encouraged me to feel calm...but for the first time, I couldn't feel the gentle caress of the breeze brushing my face, neither could I hear the subtle rustle of leaves echoing through the Autumn wind.

The first time I met him was two summers ago, over here, on this secluded grassland...while I was attempting to escape momentarily from the outside world.

It wasn't just  a simple grassland, it was magical.. my presence here made me feel stronger, much more awake. The spectrum of colours radiated across the lush dewy grass , gentle smells of flowers would permeate the air all season...but at the end of the day, it was the serenity and the peacefulness it gave off that mattered to me.

He was beautiful..he had eyes the colour of hazel; big, warm and daring. The rays of sunlight would highlight the dimples on his cheek.. and it would reflect back on me, melting my heart. Love at first sight is pretty subjective..but the first time I set eyes on him, I finally believed that anyone could fall victim to it..at any place, at any time.

The day he left me, he was lying on the ground.. lifeless, an empty shell that was once filled with energy and life. However, there was one thing, his spirit had yet to leave his body..he was trying to tell me something. He was murdered and I was certain of it. The police refused to suspect foul play.. because all evidence pointed towards suicide.

This was done intentionally, a piece of work accomplished from days of meticulous planning.

Somebody wanted me less powerful, vulnerable and dead. 

They hit my soft spot, they brutally took away the only person that could make my heart skip.

Tomorrow, my energy will be regained and my powers will be stronger than ever...to all those people that took my most treasured person away, they will be proved wrong.

Love was never so powerful. I was prepared to sacrifice.
