The sad truth is, romantic relationships don't last as long as friendships do...almost all the time.
Just a short thought... if I ever had to choose between a lover or a friend , I would chose a friend. Not because friends are more important, but because true friendship can last for eternity.
So...on this more positive note, I would like to wish one of my really good friends a happy birthday!:) Thank you for being the most amazing friend anyone could ever have! Y.L, you deserve all the best on your special day! ♥
Isn't the sunset just beautiful?:)
For some reason, I love to wish the "important" people in my life happy birthday through blogging. ( Of course I wish them again when I see them haha) but it just seems more special. Do you guys ever do that?;)
Oh btw, I've been busy redesigning my blog these days in hope to make it more reader friendly, so please don't laugh if you see anything weirdly out of place!! Haha! :D And please.. if you do have any suggestions to give me, I'll be more than happy!
Now you tell me... which do you value more? A friendship or a romantic relationship?
Thank you so much for reading this post, it means heaps to me!♥
Comment, if you have anything to say!:)
Written with love,
June
Okay it's official this is my favoruite blog...why? because you post some real good stuff..most others have all these things about fashion and all..and they go straight over my head :-P
ReplyDeleteI've always liked the people who choose friends over relationship but unfortunately the %age of such people is very low, I hope your friend realize how lucky she is to have one such friend. I think friends are more important because they accept you just the way you are and appreciate you for who you are :)

DeleteLoving the post J!! I'd opt for a friendship.. or actually I don't know. I guess it depends on the relationship. Happy birthday to YL too!! xx. Loving the pretty pictures.

Ps. Check kik ;)
Thank you M!:) yes.. of course it does depend on the relationship too:)
DeleteAwh, I love this post! ai suppose that I would value relationships that begin out as friendships a pot more, but if it fell through then it would be awful for both people really, wouldn't it?
ReplyDeleteGreat post - really thought-inducing!

Yes:) good relationships always start off as friendships..
DeleteThank you Amy! <3
I like the fact that your birthday wishes also come up in your blog. I'd love to do that too :)
ReplyDeleteYour blog is so inspiring...I love reading your posts.
I totally agree with the fact that friendships last longer than relationships in most cases.

Nothing can compare to having a good friend by your side. And you know what they say...best friends before boyfriends :)
ReplyDeleteYes... I agree:) A good friend is so important. Everyone needs a person who can guide them through the thick and thins of their life <3
Deleteagreed! and your blog turned out good :)

Awwww thanks J <3 You've been the most awesome friend that I could ever ask for :)
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome!! Have a wonderful b'day! <3<3<3
DeleteFor the present, I don't need more than a friendship, but there's time and place for both. I like the way the blog is looking so far!
ReplyDeleteYes of course!:D
DeleteI really hope their won't be a day in which we have to choose one or the other;)
Thank you Heather! ♥
love this post!! and friendship for me :)

DeleteThank you Sarahi:)

For me, I have never been in a romantic relationship. But I have had lots of friendships, and I know how much they mean to me...
ReplyDeleteWonderful post, as always, June. You're a lovely lovely blogger. xxx
Me neither, I've never been in one, so I can't really speak hahaa..but yes, I totally agree with you, my friends mean heaps to me too:D
DeleteThank you so much Tane, you're an even lovelier blogger <3
I love what you have to say in this post! Friendship is a bit more stable then a romantic relationship, and I feel like any good relationship should come out of friendship. If it's meant to be, it will get there, don't rush friendships into romance:)
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% with you:)
DeleteLasting relationships are always developed from friendships:)
Thank you! ♥
Oh yes, I believe that friendships are so much more important than a romantic relationship...however most romantic relationships should start out as friendships :) That's how most of the people I know have become married...so romantic relationships aren't bad if you are good friends with them...and you both agree to still be friends even if God doesn't work out the relationship!
ReplyDelete-Lauren
Yes:) Lauren... I love your comment!
DeleteEven if everything doesn't work out, it's ok to go back to being friends. Not too much a loss for both parties;)
Thank you! <3
Nice blog :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'll visit yours now ♥
DeleteNot all friendship last. Break up even exist in friendship... A bf gf relationship is better when you are friends with your partner before you enter relationship.
ReplyDeleteBut of course I value friendship more. ^_^
Yes... you're right... But true friendships can for last a long time.
DeleteOf course, if you have friendship as the base for your relationship, everything is better!:D
Thank you so much Teri! <3
I have to agree with you, June! Friendships do last longer. I really like the wishing your friend a happy birthday through blogging idea! I'm going to have to do it for one of my good friend whose about to turn 14! :-)
ReplyDelete~Katie@ liliesofgrace.blogspot.com
Thank you Katie! <3
DeleteOh yes, good idea! Your friend will be so delighted:)
My friend just turned 15 today:) I wish your friend a happy birthday!
If you do the whole relationship right, it will last for life. They're made to. God designed the system so you would be with your romantic partner for life. but dont rush into relationships. thats where problems arise.
ReplyDeleteAnd I dont know about you, but I wouldnt marry someone who wasnt my best friend first and foremost.
I love both friendships and romantic relationships.
Yes, Faith, I agree.. but at my age now.. if I were to choose between either one of them, i would choose friendship:)
DeleteBecause that's all I need at the moment:)
Faith, thank you for such meaningful comment! <3 Yes.. me too, I would never marry someone I don't look upon as a good friend.
Lovely post - my boyfriend is my best friend too.
ReplyDeleteLizzie's Daily Blog
That is so lovely!:) You both are a match made in heaven <3<3<3
DeleteI think that romantic relationships and friendships can intersect, especially as you get older. I love my husband but if I didn't feel like he were my friend as well, I don't think it could work out between us. When I was younger, I had boyfriends who I didn't really consider to be friends, and those relationships ended. So I definitely see what you mean!!
ReplyDeleteOwl Girl | A London lifestyle blog
Yes, that is very true:)
DeleteIt is so important for the other half of you to not only be a lover, but a friend too:)
Thank you Candy for sharing your own precious experiences ! <3
Friendships are the way to go, IMO. I seem to get more and more confused every time I see people rushing into romance and potentially ruining the great thing they already had going. I've never understood why people need the "romantic relationship" label; that shouldn't be what tells you that you're together. Then again, I've never been much of a romantic LOL.
ReplyDeleteAlso, love the new blog design. Where do you find your templates, if you don't mind me asking? :)
You express your opinions wonderfully!:)
DeleteI can relate to every single thing you mentioned. After all...friendships and relationships are really not that different, it's mainly the label that sets them apart.
I didn't change my template, I just replaced colors and made some slight variations to the css code:) It really isn't hard:)
Thank you!
truly frienship is like sun every day :)
ReplyDeleteI agree... I agree completely <3
DeleteWow this is beautiful!! Love your Blog, it encourages me so much, and really inspires me to live my life better! I would definitely choose a friend, like you said, they are usually always there for you and last forever if its a true friendship!! Like God, he's our Friend, and it lasts forever! Then again, romantic friendships are also good if God leads you to the right person in life!!! Thanks again for sharing, can't wait to read more! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Riarna, you are so so lovely! <3
DeleteYes of course, god plays a major role in our everyday lives..:) When the time has come, he will lead us to where we're meant to be:)
Once again, thank you!
Thank you so much Alice ♥ I followed you as well:)

DeleteBeautiful photos! I value friendships more because I feel that a relationship doesn't work as well unless the two people are also great friends.
ReplyDelete~ Mint
Mint, I agree!:) Thank you so much ♥
DeleteI suppose I value friendship more because I have a couple guy friends that I have already decided I will never date just because I don't want to lose them as a friend if we were to break up.
ReplyDeleteOh yes... I understand you!
DeleteIt's devastating to lose both a friendship and relationship, especially if the friendship was going so well!
Thanks for your comment Maddie:)
Love this post

DeleteI'm not sure if I'd value a relationship or friendship more... I mean, I have a beautiful girlfriend but I also have beautiful friends (especially you)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

Your girlfriend is your best friend too;) You don't have to value any over the other;)
Delete<3<3<3 You are such a wonderful friend...a beautiful one too<3
Love this post! You make some good points here. I'm really not sure which I would choose, because I think all good relationships should start out as a close friendship. I mean, without friendship, a romantic relationship is kind of empty.
ReplyDelete--Rebecca at The Silver Flute
Thank you Rebecca!:) <3
DeleteYes.. I share the same opinion with you:) I can never ever ever imagine myself having a relationship with someone I've not yet been (close) friends with.

DeleteGreat great question: It's hard to say if I would have rather wanted my exes to have been just friends knowing the relationship was doomed. Honestly, I think I still would have wanted to be partners, to be in a relationship. When you are friends, you stand side by side with someone. But when you are lovers you face them head on. You see every aspect of that person. It is like a friendship on fire and that's why those relationships don't last.
ReplyDeleteI would rather to have know that person with such intensity and to get burned then to never know those pieces of them at all.
:) Thanks for making us think! Hope your friend has a good birthday!
Thank you for sharing:)
DeleteI get what you mean... I've never thought of looking at this whole thing in that perspective. But it makes so much sense...
Thank you again for making me think too :)
I'll send over your wish to her:)
Hmm I value both. Friendship is forever with my circle of best-friends of 7-11 years (One of them is practically a childhood friend), all 4 of them are very previous to me. And my relationship with my beloved boyfriend is wonderful almost hitting 4 years, but I think yes...If I knew a relationship was going to be a failure I would prefer not to step into one ~ But most of the time you just never know especially with the romantic ones XD
ReplyDeleteGreat post ^^

Hey this is a great post :) And I too believe friendship lasts longer than love. Though I am a romance writer, I know the perks of being in a relationship as well but friendship is not in that court. :)
ReplyDeleteFriendship is something that can't be calculated with love. :D
Way too good post :D
Hope to read more of you :)
