Friendships last longer than relationships...

If...you knew that your relationship was going to be a failure, would you have opted for the path of friendship instead?

The sad truth is, romantic relationships don't last as long as friendships do...almost all the time.
Just a short thought... if I ever had to choose between a lover or a friend , I would chose a friend. Not because friends are more important, but because true friendship can last for eternity.

So...on this more positive note, I would like to wish one of my really good friends a happy birthday!:) Thank you for being the most amazing friend anyone could ever have! Y.L, you deserve all the best on your special day!

Isn't the sunset just beautiful?:)

For some reason, I love to wish the "important" people in my life happy birthday through blogging. ( Of course I wish them again when I see them haha) but it just seems more special. Do you guys ever do that?;)

Oh btw, I've been busy redesigning my blog these days in hope to make it more reader friendly, so please don't laugh if you see anything weirdly out of place!!  Haha! :D And please.. if you do have any suggestions to give me, I'll be more than happy!

Now you tell me... which do you value more? A friendship or a romantic relationship?

Thank you so much for reading this post, it means heaps to me!

Comment, if you have anything to say!:)

Written with love,
June

  1. Okay it's official this is my favoruite blog...why? because you post some real good stuff..most others have all these things about fashion and all..and they go straight over my head :-P
I've always liked the people who choose friends over relationship but unfortunately the %age of such people is very low, I hope your friend realize how lucky she is to have one such friend. I think friends are more important because they accept you just the way you are and appreciate you for who you are :)

  13. I love what you have to say in this post! Friendship is a bit more stable then a romantic relationship, and I feel like any good relationship should come out of friendship. If it's meant to be, it will get there, don't rush friendships into romance:)

  14. Oh yes, I believe that friendships are so much more important than a romantic relationship...however most romantic relationships should start out as friendships :) That's how most of the people I know have become married...so romantic relationships aren't bad if you are good friends with them...and you both agree to still be friends even if God doesn't work out the relationship!

  17. If you do the whole relationship right, it will last for life. They're made to. God designed the system so you would be with your romantic partner for life. but dont rush into relationships. thats where problems arise.
And I dont know about you, but I wouldnt marry someone who wasnt my best friend first and foremost.

I love both friendships and romantic relationships.

  19. I think that romantic relationships and friendships can intersect, especially as you get older. I love my husband but if I didn't feel like he were my friend as well, I don't think it could work out between us. When I was younger, I had boyfriends who I didn't really consider to be friends, and those relationships ended. So I definitely see what you mean!!

  20. Friendships are the way to go, IMO. I seem to get more and more confused every time I see people rushing into romance and potentially ruining the great thing they already had going. I've never understood why people need the "romantic relationship" label; that shouldn't be what tells you that you're together. Then again, I've never been much of a romantic LOL.

Also, love the new blog design. Where do you find your templates, if you don't mind me asking? :)

I can relate to every single thing you mentioned. After all...friendships and relationships are really not that different, it's mainly the label that sets them apart.
I didn't change my template, I just replaced colors and made some slight variations to the css code:) It really isn't hard:)
      Thank you!

I would definitely choose a friend, like you said, they are usually always there for you and last forever if its a true friendship!! Like God, he's our Friend, and it lasts forever! Then again, romantic friendships are also good if God leads you to the right person in life!!! Thanks again for sharing, can't wait to read more! xx

  39. Great great question: It's hard to say if I would have rather wanted my exes to have been just friends knowing the relationship was doomed. Honestly, I think I still would have wanted to be partners, to be in a relationship. When you are friends, you stand side by side with someone. But when you are lovers you face them head on. You see every aspect of that person. It is like a friendship on fire and that's why those relationships don't last.

I would rather to have know that person with such intensity and to get burned then to never know those pieces of them at all.

:) Thanks for making us think! Hope your friend has a good birthday!

  40. Hmm I value both. Friendship is forever with my circle of best-friends of 7-11 years (One of them is practically a childhood friend), all 4 of them are very previous to me. And my relationship with my beloved boyfriend is wonderful almost hitting 4 years, but I think yes...If I knew a relationship was going to be a failure I would prefer not to step into one ~ But most of the time you just never know especially with the romantic ones XD
