When will the awkwardness fade..?

You know that feeling when you meet new people?

" Just be yourself", that's what they all say.

But is it really that easy...? I don't think so.
In fact, it's so so freakin' hard.

In a situation where everything thing around me is foreign.. . I forget who I am.

I forget how it feels like to be comfortable.
I forget how it feels like to belong.

But you know what? I realise what I'm doing wrong
I'm rushing everything.

It's alright to slow down a pace, it's okay to be lost sometimes.
I'm still in the midst of figuring myself out
Why in such a hurry to "be myself"?

I guess at the end of the day. the best advice is ,
" Go with the flow, don't be so hard on yourself"

Have a great day everyone xx

June

Society never means what it says..
"Be whatever you want to be.." I can't be a Llama D:
"Be yourself"..but try to follow our rule..speak like us act like us dress like us other than that be yourself..I mean seriously?
    and there are many more..
    In case you forgot

  5. Beautiful and profoundly true, June. Lovely post. Sometimes we can be much to hard on ourselves for not having everything all figured out and we forget that we are still learning. It's so good to be able to just slow down and rest in who you are

  6. Beautiful! Being ourselves in society is hard because of all of the expectations that society puts on us. I've managed to let go of those expectations and just be me, for once. People may think I stand out for the rest of the crowd, but hey, if they are going to commit acts of prejudice against me because of my awkward personality, then that's their problem, not mine.

    xoxo Morning

  10. Society always has some expectations even when they encourage us to be who we are. It's the way the world works. As a teenager, we're always attempting to learn more about ourselves. Self-discovery is a graceful process at this age, so it's alright to take your time to figure things out. :)

  11. Aw June. It's hard starting at a new school, but it's also an amazing opportunity. Theoretically, you could actually do the whole new year, new me thing. You could become whatever you want. Try new things. Modify yourself. Because that's how life is. We're always changing. We're always trying to be a new person, especially at this age, to find out who we actually are or want to be. So act however you want to act. Do what feels right. Experiment a little. We all find ourselves eventually, and no matter how far we go, we never change that much.

    1. Haha you're so right M. This is the best time to change... to be whoever I want. But at the same time, it's difficult, because I'm still holding onto the past so tightly..
Thank you for such great advice! I'll keep it in mind forever <3

  13. Such a meaningful and thought provoking post. Everything will sort itself out with time though and think of it as an opportunity to start again, to change if you want to. You'll be just fine though, because your such an amazing person and if things didn't work out you could always come back to Australia... I'm kidding, good luck!

  19. I so agree. I know it can be so hard to be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you someone else. I've struggled with this a lot in my past and it took me all of high school, but I finally did it. you can too. I believe in you. You just gotta believe that you are worth it and that you have a value that isnt determined by what other people think of you.
I just love that picture you posted as well. you're freaking gorgeous:)
